UN: OVER 27 CRORE INDIANS LIFTED OUT OF MULTIDIMENSIONAL POVERTY IN A DECADE

Highlights

• In the years between 2005-06 and 2015-16, India was successful in lifting around 27.3 crore people out of multidimensional poverty

• Along with India, the countries of Armenia, Nicaragua and North Macedonia  have brought down the multidimensional poverty index (MPI)

• The report says 22 percent of population in 107 developing countries stays under multidimensional property
