UNESCO adds prehistoric sites in Japan as World Heritage sites

The pre historic sites of Jomon Era have been added to the World Cultural Heritage list by UNESCO on Tuesday. These sights provide an insight into the cultural and spiritual world and give an insight into the hunter gatherer society.

The area consists of 17 sites across the island of Hokkaido and northeastern prefectures of Akita, Iwate and Aomori. These ancient sites showcase the lives of prehistoric people and their lifestyle befor....
