Treated drinking water being supplied to West Des Moines has been detected with tiny amounts of toxic and synthetic chemicals that can cause cancer.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has been conducting these tests. They have been looking for perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) also known as “forever chemicals” in drinking water.
The DNR has been conducting these tests in 59 cities.....
