Amplified Energy Corporation and two of its subsidiaries based in Texas, US, have been fined for discharging crude oil into the Californian waters illegally.
The company will be charged fines worth millions of dollars and probation up to five years.
The spill likely happened because of the anchor of a cargo ship striking the underwater pipeline in October. Prosecutors have said that the companies did not deal with the spill....
