What good does the new Vizio's smart TV software brings

Vizio has a knack to making TVs with a decent picture quality at reasonable prices, but its SmartCast platform has also been similar to the likes of Samsung's Tizen and LG's WebOS. I've also wondered why Vizio is not just concentrating on hardware and software licensing Roku or Android TV.
