Home Depot and Target may sell a lot of different things. But the cheap chic store's cut forecast from the home repair store could be seen as a warning sign.

On Tuesday, Home Depot had its worst sales miss in more than 20 years and lowered its forecast for the year. On Wednesday, Target will report its fiscal first-quarter earnings.
