"Live longer, work longer," says Macron, pledging to raise the retirement age in France to 65.

The retirement age would eventually be raised by three years to 65 under a pension reform that the French President Emmanuel Macron promised to enact on Wednesday. This will force younger generations to work longer hours.

In an interview with France 2 television, Macron stated that the modifications would begin to be implemented in 2019.
