A powerful blast in a petro-chemical plant in Tarragona,Spain has left one dead and eight people with serious injuries. The balst occurred at Industrias Químicas del Óxido de Etileno at around 17:40 GMT. The site of the blast is identified as La Canonja municipality in the northeastern Catalan region. It is 115 kilometers from Barcelona. The impact of the blast was heard as far as 50 meters.
