“I wished to assess my performance and changes I’ve created to date towards a healthy sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle," says Rasha Saleh, Dubai-based environmental activist. Born in United Arab Emirates's capital, Rasha graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Environmental and Water Engineering from the American University of Sharjah.
The challenge, she says, offered her an opportunity to pass the message that one person can even build a distinction. "The challenge was conjointly an opportunity on behalf of me to push myself and say no even once that it’s not convenient. It opened my eyes to what quantity plastic and meat I consume on a routine."
She shares her sustainable challenge diary
Going plastic-free: "During the 5-day challenge, among the various things, I carried my very own my refillable bottle, did exclude breakfast, oats with milk in an exceeding glass jar, used my no-package, no-waste toilet article bar and shampoo. Going meatless: "I avoided meat at restaurants. Ordered dish and meatless alimentary paste instead. For Brunch on Day a pair of, I ready a hammoumi sandwich and had a dish for dinner. I had a feeder dish rather than a doner sandwich and vegetarian snacks.
