European Union agrees to go carbon neutral by 2050

In the Brussels meeting, EU leaders have agreed to make the current 28-member bloc carbon neutral by 2050 as part of the European Green Deal.

Before agreeing on cutting the net amount of greenhouse gas emissions to zero, several eastern European countries wanted financial and other guarantees

After assurances that nuclear energy could be included in the final mix, the Czech Republic and Hungary were brought on board. Howeve....
