After drawing their last encounter with their neighbors in Bangladesh, the Indian team is all set to take on Afghanistan in their campaign to qualify for the FIFA world cup next time around. The game is poised to be a highly charged game according to the member of the blue side Adil Khan who was instrumental in scoring the scintillating equalizer that made sure that India didn't lose out on their chances to qualify for the world cup. He stated that though he would like to think about that goal more often, right now they have a bigger fish to catch and that is the game against Afghanistan which will be a very challenging piece of derby to be played by the Indian side in the recent past as he feels that Afghanistan has always been kind of an Achilles heel for the Indian side and the capability of Afghanistan's football team to spring up surprises has been unprecedented, a few of the Afghan team players also play in the European Leagues giving an Idea of what their talent levels and maturity levels regarding the game are and how difficult will it be to outscore a firm and determined Afghanistan.
The competition is formidable, but the Indian team will try to stick to its basics and make everything work in order to keep their hopes alive for qualifying. The match is to happen in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 14 November 2019. India will later be hosted by Oman for the next leg of their qualifiers, as every country battling today is for a place in the FIFA world cup that is planned ahead. The Indian team had a practice session in Dubai before flying to Dushanbe, and they tried to ensure that they put forward their best foot in order to meet the challenges lying ahead in the names of Afghanistan and Oman.
