Residents are being urged to seek shelter following a chemical leak at a US plant

Residents in the Plaquemine area of the southern US state of Louisiana were advised to seek cover following the emission of chlorine as a result of a nearby chemical factory fire.

According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi, the fire and chlorine leak occurred on Monday night at Olin Chemical, a third-party firm that operates at the Dow Chemical Plant site, according to Xinhua news agency.
