Stars have life cycles of their own. Bits of dust and gas floating through space find each other and collapse in on each other and heat up, forming a star. Stars burn for millions to billions of years before dying out. When they die, they throw out the particles that formed in their winds out into space. ‘Stardust’, those dust bits form new stars, new planets, moons, and meteorites eventually.
