The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States has issued a regulation on 20th December that US utilities have to monitor their supply of drinking water for the presence of twenty-nine per and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The regulation is applicable from 2023 to 2025.
The EPA will use the data to decide whether these chemicals need regulations for the protection of public health.
